October 16, 2025 – Happy World Food Day! Today, we join the global community in celebrating the power of food to nourish, connect, and inspire change. This year’s theme, “Right to Food for a Better Life and a Better Future,” reminds us that access to nutritious, sustainable food is a fundamental right, not a privilege. At Bread of Life CCM, we’re passionate about making healthy eating accessible and sustainable, and we’re here to share how you can join the movement—because Prepping Ain’t Easy, but together, we can make a difference!
What Is World Food Day?
Established by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations in 1979, World Food Day marks the founding of the FAO and raises awareness about global hunger, food security, and sustainable agriculture. It’s a call to action to ensure everyone, everywhere, has access to safe, nutritious food. In 2025, the focus is on tackling food insecurity while promoting sustainable practices to protect our planet for future generations.
Why Food Matters
Food is more than fuel—it’s culture, community, and connection. It’s the family recipe passed down for generations, the street food that sparks joy, and the fresh produce that supports local farmers. But for millions, access to food remains a challenge. According to the FAO, over 700 million people faced hunger in 2024, and climate change continues to threaten food systems worldwide. World Food Day is a chance to reflect on these challenges and take action.
